There is no other place better than the Caribbean for a great holiday escape. Doesn’t matter whether you are travelling solo, as a family, or as a couple, the Caribbean Sea and its tropical Islands offer a bit of paradise for everyone! Having said this, with more than 7,000 islands to choose from, choosing a destination is not always easy.

Here are some points to consider that will help you decide which island best suits your expectations:

1- Choose what type of vacation you want: are you looking to spend the majority of the time on the beach or are you interested in sightseeing? Some islands have great beaches whilst others no so much; some have great attractions and others are so small, the only attraction they offer is the beach!

2- Decide what type of accommodation suits your needs: an all-inclusive, couples-only resort, a family resort or a cruise?

3- Choose what part of the Caribbean is best for you: east, south or west. Depending on the time of year, one might be more suitable for you than the other. Eastern and western destinations are best visited in the spring and summer because they tend to have cooler winter weather. On the other hand, the southern destinations are more popular during winter months because they are closer to the equator and therefore, have a warmer climate.

4- Take into account weather conditions of the area: although the weather is generally warm and pleasant year-round, this region is well known for its hurricane season that runs from June to November with peak activity in September and October. Heavy rain and strong winds are to be expected during these months.

Once you have chosen your final destination, time to travel and accommodation there is only one thing left to do: pack and enjoy!
